City Infrastructure Improvements

About

Continuing under the direction of Mayor Michael P. Londeau and approved by City Council, DPS and its contractors have been working diligently since April 2017 on the six year Capital Improvements Program (CIP). You have already noticed that infrastructure improvement projects are being completed throughout the city. These projects will improve the various components of the city’s infrastructure, such as roads, bridges, sidewalks, water mains and sewers.

Infrastructure, like everything else, degrades as it ages.  DPS is tasked with maintaining the City's aging infrastructure and these plans provide a roadmap of the work being done to maintain and improve the services provided to the residents.

Surveys and tracking of previous repairs provide DPS staff with information about possible future system failures and the CIP takes that into consideration.
