Recruitment Team

The Westland Police Department established its Recruitment Team in 2015 in order to maintain the flow of qualified candidates to the Westland Police Department. A major focus of the Westland Police Department Recruitment Team is to attract future officers who more accurately reflect the demographic makeup of our community including female and minority officers.

Responsibilities

Members of the Westland Police Department Recruitment Team attend functions such as job fairs, community gatherings, and school and church summer camps as representatives of the department. Recruitment Team members also take members of the community interested in a career in law enforcement on a ride-along so they can experience what it is like to be a police officer.
