City of Westland Launches Upgraded Online Payment Portal with New Features and Reduced Processing Fees

Friday, December 19, 2025 - Westland, MI - The City of Westland has officially gone live with its newly upgraded Online Payment Portal, providing residents and business partners with a more user-friendly, secure, and cost-effective way to pay taxes, water bills, permits, and other City invoices.

The upgraded portal offers a cleaner, easier-to-navigate interface and introduces several new features designed to improve convenience and accessibility, including:

•             Google Pay

•             eCheck payments

•             The ability to create a user account and electronic wallet

•             Recurring payment setup

•             Additional enhanced payment options

In addition to these improvements, the City was also able to reduce the credit card payment processing fee from 3% to 2.5%, resulting in direct savings for users.

Mayor Kevin Coleman praised the continued efforts of the City’s Department of Innovation and Technology to modernize services and lower costs.

“Providing high-quality services while finding ways to save residents and business partners money is a top priority,” said Mayor Coleman. “This upgraded Online Payment Portal offers new, convenient features and reduces processing fees, making it easier and more affordable to do business with the City of Westland.”

The new secure portal is now available and can be used for tax payments, water bills, permits, and other invoices. This upgrade represents another step in Mayor Coleman’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery and create a better Westland for everyone.
