Approved City Council Resolution for Use of Westland ARP Funds

The City of Westland has unanimously approved the first expenditure of  American Rescue Plan Funds.   After extensive review of various City projects that could qualify for funding through the American Rescue Plan that was created through the Federal Government, the Administration proposes the following breakdown of spending of the initial $12,966,016.00 received by the City:

  • General Fund Support (Lost Revenue) $5,000,000
  • Public Safety and Services Vehicles & Equipment $3,516,016
  • Affordable Housing & Senior Care/PVM $1,500,000
  • Building/Property Improvements - Police Dept, Golf & Ice Arena $1,250,000
  • Central City Park Pond Improvements $450,000
  • Residential Basement Flooding Mitigation Equipment $400,000
  • Hero Pay - all full time employees (No Elected Officials) $350,000
  • Tree Truck/Chipper – Power Outage Mitigation $300,000
  • Public Broadband Infrastructure $200,000
  • Total $12,966,016
