Dear Westland Business Partner,
Thank you for your important contribution to Westland’s thriving business community. Successful businesses like yours are a driving force in the success of our community, and we are looking for business partners to join in an exciting endeavor. I am pleased to announce my 7th Annual Wild about Youth – WORKS! Program. This program is designed to help Westland’s young adults learn the virtue of a strong work ethic, the importance of customer service, and perhaps help our business community hire and train tomorrow’s workforce.
This partnership with you, the Wayne-Westland Community School District, and the City of Westland provides our young adults the chance to enter and gain experience in the workforce. Students will be required to attend a workshop discussing financial literacy, dressing for success, and interview skills, in order to participate in the program. We respectfully request that our business partners interview and hire student(s) of their choosing and commit to providing 16 hours of work per week for six weeks or more at the minimum wage rate or higher.
To participate in the Wild About Youth- WORKS! Program, please complete the Business Participation Sheet online by May 15th, 2017. If you would like further information, please contact Paul Motz, Program Director at (734)-467-7904
We appreciate you taking the time to get involved with this important effort to help youth in our community succeed.
William R. Wild, Mayor
City of Westland
