Dear Westland Business Partner,

Thank you for your important contribution to Westland’s thriving business community.  Successful businesses like yours are a driving force in the success of our community, and we are looking for business partners to join in an exciting endeavor.  I am pleased to announce my 6th Annual Wild about Youth – WORKS! Program. This program is designed to help Westland’s young adults learn the virtue of a strong work ethic, the importance of customer service, and perhaps help our business community hire and train tomorrow’s workforce.

This partnership with you, the Wayne-Westland Community School District, and Fifth Third Bank provides our young adults the chance to enter the workforce and learn the importance of financial literacy.  Students will be required to attend a Dress for Success/Financial Literacy presentation event in order participate in the program.  We respectfully request that our business partners would interview and hire student(s) of their choosing and commit to providing 16 hours of work per week for six weeks or more at the minimum wage rate or higher.

If you are willing to participate in the Wild About Youth- WORKS! Program, please complete the Business Participation Sheet online or download fax to my Westland Youth Assistance Program at (734) 422-0928 or by email at yap@cityofwestland.com.  If you would like further information, please contact Paul Motz, Program Director or Samantha Baker at (734) 467-7904.

We appreciate you taking the time to get involved with this important effort to help youth in our community succeed.

Sincerely,

Mayor
