Wild about Youth Works Dress for Success and Financial Literacy Program

Wild About Youth Works! is an employment opportunity that also includes financial literacy and dressing for success training that will benefit you today and for the rest of your adult life.  This is an initiative of Westland Mayor William R. Wild, in partnership with the Wayne-Westland Community School District, Fifth Third Bank and the Westland Youth Assistance Program.

Wild About Youth Works! has been wildly successful in placing individuals between the ages of 16-18 who are Westland residents or students of WWCSD in summer jobs for a minimum six weeks.

STUDENTS:  The first thing you must do if you’d like to be considered for these summer jobs is complete and submit an application online at www.cityofwestland.com.

Individuals wishing to participate in Wild About Youth Works! are required to attend “Dress for Success and Financial Literacy” training.  If this requirement is met, students will be given a list of potential employment opportunities.  It will be up to you to secure employment including meeting with potential employers and undergoing interviews and/or testing.

If accepted into the program, students will be required to work a minimum of 16 hours per week and will be paid at least minimum wage.

Attendance is mandatory for participation in the program. Please contact the Youth Assistance Program at 734-467-7904 to sign up or sign up online at http://www.cityofwestland.com/departments/economic-development/wild-about-youth-works
